My nickname on the net is Xerraire, it is a Catalán word as I lived almost a year in Catalunya, Spain. Xerraire means talkative, but I don’t think I am that much of a talker, it just seemed like a good nickname to use to give myself in a Yahoo chat years ago. The name has just stuck.
Sometimes, Xerraire gets in the news:
- Photo meme Hall of Shame
- Clara Magazine (About homeschooling)
- Her art gets appreciated too.
Sometimes, Xerraire lives here and sometimes there.
Now I do boomerang between Maryland, USA, and Perth, Western Australia. That makes me bi-continental. It’s not easy. The good part is that the nature of my work can be done no matter where I am in the world. The bad part is I can’t be in two places at once. Currently, due to Covid, I am on my way to spending nearly two years here in Australia. Something I never thought I would have to do.
Sometimes Xerraire goes crazy over music.
I love music and my tastes are broad and ever-growing. My list of MP3z.
I was raised in a household of different kinds and generations of music. My dad liked Country & Western, Al Jolsen, and the classics of the 40’s and 50’s. Mom liked classical music, Gospel, beautiful religious cantatas, Frank Sinatra, and anything she could dance to. She taught me to Cha Cha, and house cleaning music always involved Herp Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. My sister liked the 50’s and 60’s music as well as played all kinds of music on the piano. I was also given piano lessons by my mom and later in high school with a teacher. I do believe we all liked Elvis. On that list of MP3z, you can see the influences my children and my faith have also had on me.
Sometimes Xerraire writes down what is going on around her.
I like to help friends and family know what’s on my mind or what I am doing by keeping a blog. Even before I ever came to Australia, my friends and loved ones were all over the globe. When I saw how beneficial it could be to be able to update a lot of people at once instead of sending out a lot of emails saying the same thing about 100 times, I decided to get a blog. Now I don’t know how I’ve lived without it. When I forget what year I did this or that, I can look my life history up, or grab a photo from my online journal.
